Goal Statement:
Section 8 Housing Eligibility:2
- Must be: disabled, over the age of 62, or have other members of the household, such as children that make up a family unit.
- Applicants must be U.S citizens or have legal immigration status.
- The total incomes of the house mist exceed 50% of the median income in the rental area.
- Documentation of income and family members living on the property is needed.

- Contact the local PHA
- Also contact the nearest HUD Office
Local Preferences and Waiting List:1
- There is a high demand for assistance with housing and it often exceeds the amount of help that can be offered. Because of this the waiting list at times may close or have a preference when choosing an applicant for assistance.
- PHA's will help establish local preferences in how applicants may be chosen for assistance.
- Homeless or living in substandard housing.
- Paying more than 50% of its income for rent
- Involuntarily displaced.
- Applicants who fall into these standards will move ahead of applicants on the list that do not.
