  • The opportunities provided by the City of Trenton, the State of New Jersey, individual businesses, and organizations are not enough to meet the summer employment need of high school students.

    •  The 2000 census states that 5,169 of Trenton youths are in high school (grades 9-12), which is 22.0 percent of the youth population.[1]

    • The City of Trenton provides 60 Summer Youth Employments for students 14 through 18.[2]
    • The City of Trenton also has 10 Leadership Internships for college age students.[3]
    • Urban youth unemployment rate in Mercer County is 10.8% .[4]
