Siena College Community Think Tank
About the Siena College Community Think Tank
The Siena College Community Think Tank is an undergraduate research team developed under the Bonner Service Leaders Program at Siena College that strives to provide up to date policy research, information and news on topics that are important to New York's Capital Region. Students will conduct research individually and/or as part of a CBL class. Students or classes will work on two forms of policy research that will be conducted. The first of which is policy research is conducted for local non-profits who do not have the access or resources to conduct the research on their own. Research topics will address local issues and problems that non-profits struggle with in the Capital Region. The research will provide participating non-profits with the information that they need to develop policy that will allow them to better serve their clients. The second form of policy research will simply be on issues that are important in the Capital Region, but they are not specific to a non-profit. They are broader and have the ability to affect much more people.
In addition to the above mentioned research, the think tank will also have a news bureau that will provide the Capital Region with the means to get policy information issues in the region. Information will be posted on a web page, which will be updated with new information everyday. This information will then be available to to the general public. The goal of this is to provide information that is clear and allows the readers to become more educated on the policy issues in their community.
For more information the Siena College Community Think Tank, please see the 2011-2012 Handbook for more information.
