  • ]

Walla Walla has a Latino population of that makes up just fewer than 20% of the county’s population; however, Latino residents are focused within the 9206 and 9205 tracts making up 30% and 49% of the total population, respectively.

  • These Latino populated neighborhoods within Walla Walla also contain various social problems known to affect academic achievement negatively.

    • The percentage of families living in poverty within these neighborhoods exceeds that of any other neighborhood in Walla Walla.

    • The number of adults who have attained masters or professional degrees is significantly lower in these tracts which makes for fewer role models, who have benifited from education, for youth to be exposed to.
