    • Greene County Children & Youth Services - Provides for the immediate safety and protection of children from abuse and neglect, to keep children with their own families whenever possible, to provide temporary substitutive care of children when necessary and to reunite children with their families as quickly as possible after placement.
    • Children and Youth Advisory Board-  Meetings are held at 9:00am every 2nd Tuesday of each odd month.

    • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh- the region’s premier evidenced-based youth mentoring agency—earning national recognition for program quality and organizational excellence. Their target population includes children ages 6-18 from single parent families, low-income households, and underperforming schools. In many cases, these children have incarcerated parents, encounter bullying in school, and face other challenging circumstances that increase their susceptibility to negative outcomes.
    • Blue Prints-  Blueprints, formerly Community Action Southwest, is a non-profit organization that serves 20,000 residents in Greene County, Washington County, and West Virginia. Our 50 programs act as catalyst to mobilize the resources of the entire community, enabling families and individuals to attain the skills, knowledge, motivations, and opportunities to become self-sufficient.
    • Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA)- Their volunteers advocate for the best interests of neglected and abused children involved in dependency court proceedings. They recruit, train, and support community volunteers who advocate for these children.
    •  Catholic Charities- At the Greene County Outreach, they provide free, confidential pregnancy testing; counseling and education; and free infant-care items to expectant parents and the parents of children up to the age of 2. All Pregnancy and Parenting services are free and available to all who approach them for help.

    • Cornerstone Genealogical Society- Preserving Greene County family history, the society houses a vast collection (library) of genealogical research materials and family histories that are tapped into by people from all over the world.     • Crisis Pregnancy Center- The center (a Christian based organization) offers: free pregnancy tests; counseling regarding abortion and abortion alternatives; referrals for medical care and legal assistance, housing, transportation, childbirth instruction; referrals for adoption; post-abortion counseling. Currently accepting cash donations, used or new baby items, diapers and maternity clothes.

    • Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA-  The mission of Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania is to increase awareness of domestic violence and its effect on the community, to empower those victimized by providing advocacy and safe and effective services, and to work for social change designed to eliminate domestic violence.

    •  Eva K. Bowlby Public Library Provides free library service to all adults, children and young people of Greene County. It makes accessible to the community a growing collection of resources, needed information, research, recreation, and after-school tutoring for school age and high school students.
    • Greene County United Way- The United Way changes lives throughout Greene County by identifying community needs, supporting the services that meet those needs and providing results to our residents. These programs offer solutions to critical county issues, including supporting seniors, health and wellness, emergency assistance and investing in the education of our youth. 
    •  Rainbow's End Learning Center- Children of all abilities are invited to learn, play, and grow in a safe, inclusive, and well-supervised environment. This is quality early learning care that inspires creative, confident thinking, and where children can develop fully. Their program’s philosophy is developed around an educationally based, hands-on approach to learning, utilizing the Creative Curriculum. This philosophy is adapted to meet the individual needs of the children in each classroom environment, infancy (6 weeks old) through elementary school age (12 years old).
    •  The Salvation Army-  The Salvation Army Service Center provides Greene County residents with emergency need for assistance with Utilities, Rent, Lodging,  prescription meds, burial or food. They provide shopping at their free clothing/household warehouse and the opportunity to participate in their special programs: Camp Allegheny, Project Bundle-Up, Back to School Clothing, Treasures for Children, Kids’ Birthday Club, Baby Bags for New Moms.

The District serves the public trust, promotes awareness of conservation practices, offers technical assistance to landowners and municipalities and offer a first-line assessment of environmental complaints.
    •  Greene County GRACE Program- Greene County's Reinvestment in Agriculture: Cost Share Enhancement Program (GRACE) is a conservation based program designed to enhance soil health within the agriculture community. Active farmers, farmers that rent or new farmers with animals may apply for livestock conservation fencing, lime, water development projects and fertilizer. The program also funds various forestry practices, such as invasive species control.

    • Izaak Walton League of America-  Izaak Walton League of America is a conservation organization providing education and advocacy on environmental issues from the county level up to a worldwide perspective. At present the local chapter is concerned with several issues, including the establishment of a canoe/kayak waterway trail on Ten Mile Creek, from Waynesburg to the mouth just beyond Clarksville. They have also been active in working to keep the water quality ratings for the local creeks and rivers from being downgraded and have actually assisted in several of them being upgraded.

    • Greene County Drug & Alcohol/ SCA Planning Committee-  All meetings will be held in the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the Fort Jackson Building at 4:00PM.  All Public is Invited to Attend.
    • Greene County Drug Task Force- Agents of the attorney general's office manage Greene County's Drug Task Force with the assistance of the District Attorney of Greene County. It is composed of members of local police departments and Greene County detectives. The detectives serve on the task force in addition to their regular duties as police officers and draw upon their experience to recognize, evaluate, and eradicate drug trafficking in Greene County.

(SPHS)- SPHS provides the full range of management/administrative services and central oversight to a comprehensive health and human service provider system, which allows the affiliates to concentrate their energies on direct service delivery throughout the four county region of southwestern Pennsylvania. Through this partnership, SPHS and its affiliates conduct strategic planning, develop programs and provide human services throughout Butler, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties; serving over 60,000 people annually throughout 60 service locations while employing more than 1,000 professional, clinical, and support personnel.
  • SPHS Care Center-  The Care Center provides quality recovery based, trauma informed, integrated services for behavioral health, drug and alcohol addiction, victim services and gambling including: education, intervention, case management, treatment, after care and referrals to consumers in Washington and Greene Counties.  All services are provided in cooperation with the Greene County Human Services Department.

Justice, Crime and Public Safety

    • Greene County District Attorney- The District Attorney prosecutes criminal cases arising in Greene County, provides legal support to police investigators, and represents the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at trial and on appeal.
    • Greene County Drug Task Force- Agents of the attorney general's office manage Greene County's Drug Task Force with the assistance of the District Attorney of Greene County. It is composed of members of local police departments and Greene County detectives. The detectives serve on the task force in addition to their regular duties as police officers and draw upon their experience to recognize, evaluate, and eradicate drug trafficking in Greene County. 
    • Greene County Prison- It is the mission of the Greene County Prison to serve and protect the County’s citizens with safe, humane, and lawful incarceration of offenders, by providing treatment programming and structure to support inmate accountability and successful community integration.
    • Greene County Prothonotary Office- The Prothonotary is the keeper/clerk of the records of the Court of Common Pleas’ civil division. The Prothonotary is responsible for maintaining accurate indices, case dockets and record-keeping services and providing user-friendly access to the public.
    • Greene County Public Defender's Office- The Public Defender's Office provides legal representation to indigent defendants in Greene County by safeguarding fundamental individual rights and ensuring access to the guaranteed protections afforded by the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
    • Greene County Sheriff's Office- The Sheriff's Office is a law enforcement agency sworn to serve and protect the citizens and property of Greene County. The mission of the Sheriff’s Office is to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth, administer the civil process, serve and enforce court orders, issue licenses to carry firearms and provide security for the courthouse and all county property. The Sheriff’s Office also assists local, state and federal agencies in the pursuit of justice.
    • Greene County Victim/Witness Services- The Victim/Witness Services program was created to help with the trauma and confusion the victim suffers as a result of the commission of a crime. The Victim/Witness Services program also assists witnesses through the court process.
