Goal Statement

  • Health disparities between the majority and minorities in this nation is a growing issue.  There are numerous factors that have cause these disparities to grow. These factors are genetics, gender,  health care, or class.  Health care is a huge factor, because many minorities have jobs where health care is not offered to them. With out health care individuals cannot afford to treat the illnesses they contract or receive. Here are a few recommendations to decrease the health disparities that minorities face. Click here

  • Health disparities refer to differences between groups of people.[16] These differences can affect how frequently a disease affects a group, how many people get sick, or how often the disease causes death. Many different populations are affected by disparities. These include:
    • Racial and ethnic minorities
    • Residents of rural areas
    •  Women, children, the elderly
    •  Persons with disabilities
