  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is a state-administrated means tested cash assistance program that is most closely equated with 'welfare.'

  • Means-Tested Benefits - benefits that a person must qualify for by fulfilling income and other eligibility requirements.
  • Immigrant Sponsor - citizens or legal immigrants are financially responsible for the immigrants they sponsor.  When being considered for benefits, the sponsor's resources are incorporated into the applicant's resources
