Scope of the Problem  factual statements on the extent of the problem in the past, current, or future

Approximately 44 million Americans have no health coverage, with an additional 38 million having inadequate health coverage(Mendes, 2012). And according to a study conducted by Harvard University, medical expenses have become the largest cause for bankruptcies in the United States1. This is a very serious issue, about 1/3 of the population states that they or a family member has put of a serious medical procedure due to the cost (Riffkin, 2014). With this epidemic of little to no coverage, about 1/3 of the population does not have the resources to pay for the medical care that they need. can you elaborate on this a bit more?
